New ClauseBuddy look & feel

Improvement ClauseBuddy has a fresh new look. It now shows a top menu bar from which you can easily navigate to other modules. We also tweaked the colours to be more consistent.

New welcome screen

New feature ClauseBuddy features an entirely new and helpful welcome page.

  • At the top, it shows the four modules you most recently used.

  • In the search box, you can ask a natural-language question (with auto-suggest).

For example, when asking Draft legal document with a questionnaire, ClauseBuddy's AI will provide the following helpful answer, referring to the various modules offered by ClauseBuddy that could be useful.

We are convinced that this assistant will support users in understanding & using the wealth of ever-increasing functionality available in ClauseBuddy.

Automatic rewriting of entire text fragments

New feature The new Apply rules to selected text feature allows users to automatically rewrite some selected text in order to make it compliant with the visible playbook rules. For example, when selecting some text and then clicking on the purple button at the bottom...

... ClauseBuddy will automatically insert both a force majeure clause and insert a governing law clause, in order for the text to meet the rules shown in red above.

As the rewriting happens with layout-awareness, this new feature can be truly revolutionary, as it allows to revise & redraft an entire agreement in mere clicks.

Due to LLM over-taxing concerns, we currently limit this features to 200 paragraphs. Once LLMs get better, we will raise this limit.

Filter playbook rules by text selection

New feature When selecting the new "Text selection only" mode, you can get an overview of all the playbook rules that are relevant for the current text selection.

For example, in the screenshot below, you can see that only the rules relating to the Entire Agreement clause are shown. This allows lawyers to go through a document on a clause-by-clause basis, to check which rules are (not) complied with by each clause. The default mode ("Entire document") is still available, for approaching the review from the perspective of the rules instead.

Improved Write & Rewrite module

Improvement We revised the Write & Rewrite modules, to act even more as a "specialised drafting room" for legal professionals.

For example, when seleting an existing clause in a contract...

... you will get a new version with changes highlighted:

You can draft as many other versions as you like, each time drafting a new prompt. You can even mix & match paragraphs between versions.

Users can also upload attachments (even Excel-files, Outlook emails or Powerpoint-slides) to provide as inspiration towards the LLM.

Automatic placeholder filling

New feature By checking the Fill placeholders checkbox, users can automatically fill placeholders with any information found in uploaded attachments.

Perhaps even more interesting is the automatic connection to the various corporate entity registers in each jurisdiction. As long as the AI can infer the country, the address, entity type, company number, etc. will be automatically filled in:

Even without any additional instruction (just check the Fill placeholders) this will result in a new version with all the placeholders automatically filled in:

When there is ambiguity about which entity specifically, a selection screen will be shown:

New Document Cleanup module

New feature There's a new Document Cleanup module. With just a few clicks, it allows users to automatically perform cleaning operations such as:

  • Removing empty spaces

  • Removing metadata

  • Swapping track changes authors

  • Adding a watermark

  • Appending some other document before or after

All of these operations can also be stored as a workflow that can be saved (or even published within the team) for easy reuse later.
